Description:
As soon as the multi-system is powered and 1-4 batteries are placed in the compartments, the charging process is automatically triggered, and the communications between the batteries and the charger starts. Initially, the 4 LED's are on for 3 seconds (initiation phase). During this time, the main battery parameters are recorded. The appropriate charging algorithm for each battery chemistry is defined. After the initiation phase, the LED's begin to blink, indicating that the charging process has begun. The end of the charging process is reached when the corresponding LED is constantly on/
THE MICRO-CONTROLLER:
Adjusts the charging process, the charging duration and the intensity of the battery. A continuous data exchange between the batteries and the charges takes place so that optimal charging is achieved. Conventional charging methods do not consider the charging battery state which leads to unsatisfactory results of the charged battery
THE CHARGING CURRENT:
The maximum charging current per channel can be up to 600mAh or 2.4A total. The charging current is adjusted permanently according to the quality, inner resistance and fast charging capability of each individual battery
THE MEMORY EFFECT:
If NiCd batteries are not fully discharged before being recharged, that point becomes their full operating capacity. The batteries "remembers" how far it was discharged and can no longer be used beyond this point. To a lesser degree, the same memory effect occurs with NiMH batteries. Because of its intelligent charging technique, the AP-2010 can also avoid the memory-effect in new NiCd batteries and override it in older ones. After 3-4 charge cycles, up to 90% of the initial capacity of older NiCd batteries can be recovered.
AUTOMATIC FLOAT CHARGE:
The cells are given a float charge after the charging process is completed. Batteries that have been stored for a long time can also be recharged with the AP-2010.
